Rainier Tires?

Are Rainier good tires? They came wtih my new travel trailer and I have my doubts. I can only find them at Wal-Mart, but not 14" 8-ply. I have (5) Rainier ST205/75R14 "D" 8-ply. The 14" 8-ply appear hard to find.

Can't speak to the quality/durability of the Rainier tires, but someone most likely will. If you have concerns and doubt about them, order a set of Carlisle, Goodyear, Maxxis, Sailun or another brand frequently commented on throughout these threads, in the size and rating you need. Put the old take offs on Craigslist and you'll likely recoup most of your money. I'm the end you'll feel much better about your tires while you're towing and most likely only be out a couple hundred dollars, or less.

I second what Don said above. A quality reputable brand will help ease your fears. It won't eliminate them though. If possible, increase reserve capacity by way of going up to a LRE tire. Marginal reserve carry capacities are notorious in terms of tire fitments from RV manufactururers. ST tires do degrade over a short time and having sufficient "reserves" can help mitigate a failure 1, 2 or 3 years down the road.
