Front cap eyebrow lights don't work.

First thing I checked was the switch. The switch works, I used it to power the awning lights. So then with a multimeter I determined that I have 13 volts at the switch but only if I ground it to the switch next to it. Which led me to believe that I have a bad ground. So then I went outside and removed the front LED lights, with the exposed wires and a multimeter I was reading roughly 6 to 7 volts on each side. So now I'm confused. I have 13 volts at the switch but only if I ground it to a different switch, but on the outside I only have half the voltage on each side. So is it supposed to be this way or do I have a bad ground. Next I took the lights that I removed and I hooked them up to a 6 volt battery, one worked and the other one did not. Then I hooked the lights up to a 12 volt battery and they both worked. At this point I have to buy new lights anyway because I've already peeled off the adhesive tape and the lights are cheap. But, do I have a ground problem or is it supposed to be split? And do they sell LED lights that are designed to run on 6 volts?Click image for larger version

The lights should 12v. If testing to a known good ground and you have 12v, I would suspect you are correct that the ground is your problem.

Yep, definitely the ground. I moved the ground to a good ground on the center docking light and now the lights work. Although as you can see they still need to be replaced. Worth noting that the wires are a tangled mess. I can't even imagine what the rest of the trailer looks like.Click image for larger version

Grounds are often tied together, and I wonder if one may have slipped out of the crimp.

Agreed but it's somewhere inside the wall. Everything on the outside looks tight. Well tight until I moved it. I'm just glad I found another ground to use instead of fishing wires.

I had a problem with my rear center clearance lights when I went to hook up my camera I found they had reverse the wires and the ground was very loose.

Sounds like you replaced your Eyebrow lights. Could you let me know where you purchased them please, mine are in very bad shape and need to be replaced. I've looked around a bit but most are 12" and mine are 14" on my Cougar. Thanks for your time.

Sorry but I honestly don't remember. But you can buy adhesive light strips from many sources. The strips can be cut to length so that won't matter. Just buy the diameter and color you like. It's a pretty easy job once you get into it. I don't even have the RV anymore to measure for you.

OK, thanks. Yeah, I've seen many and its challenging for sure. The width/diameter is the problem so far with the cutting to length the easy part. Thanks for your time.

The groove in the fiberglass is wide enough to accept a size larger. Im thinking 1/4 inch is a common size and fits in there easily. Don't stress too much as its a pretty easy swap. The lights are cheap enough you can even experiment a little with colors or sizes.

The replacement lights I bought have a paper strip on the back side which you peel off and the lights then stick to your trailer or whatever you choose. I then applied a small amount of silicone at the entry hole of the wire so no moisture gets in the cap. If the strip doesn't stay on with its self adhesive tape, I will then add silicone.

If you end up buying a longer strip then you need and have to cut them to size, don't forget to apply silicone on the cut end also.

I need to be a little more clear, The eye brow lights work fine, the top od the nose light string lights only 1/2 way across the nose. I must be broken in the middle.
The string lites from the pqassenger side, about a 1/3 of the way across the top of the nose and ther rest is "no light"
