Hello from Illinois

Hello...We just bought a 2008 Everest with 4 slides. It was purchased new by the PO and hauled to a country club campground and parked. That's the only time it's been on the road. The couple divorced a year later. The beds still have the plastic on them. The stove and oven have never been used. It still had all the Bounce sheets all over it from the dealership. This is our upgrade from a 1998 Georgie Boy Pursuit. We will pull it with a Ford F350. We had a little accident when we first opened one of the living room slides. Apparently a cabinet door was left open, or opened by itself and when the slide opened it caught on the door and ripped it off. I contacted the Keystone website and they said to contact a dealer to ask about replacing the door. Does anyone know if this is possible. The PO feels terrible, but we just want to get the door replaced. We're taking it out this weekend for the first time. I'm a bit nervous, it's just so big! DH is much calmer. Wish us luck!

from Oklahoma. Congrats! Your local dealer should be able to order a replacement door, you might also look around the web for comparison prices. Also, if it has been setting that long, new tires are gonna be necessary if they haven't been replaced. Have a great first outing!

to the forum sturner2900.

The Everest line was discontinued in 2010, and finding replacement parts may be somewhat of a scavenger hunt
Keystone doesn't sell directly to the public, so you'd have to go through a Keystone dealer. If you know where
the unit was originally purchased, you might call them first.

Try this site (& for price comparison) http://www.trekwood.com/replacements/8988/2008

And possibly search (online) for some of the businesses that sell RV over-stock, discontinued & salvaged parts.
Here's one for starters: http://www.rverscorner.com/RV_Salvage_by_state.html

As a recommendation -- although the unit itself is still "like new", the tires are 6-7 yrs old (deteriorated)
and should be replaced if you haven't done so already.

Also IMPORTANT! Check the manufacturer site for any RECALLS [there are 7 that 'MAY' apply to that unit]

Congrats on your 'new-to-you' 5th wheel, have fun, and Happy Trails!

Hello neigbor, that happened to my self too. Ive read about this alot and was conciuos about it, but i didnt bungee it like usaul cause i was only pulling it out of the barn to fill with water and bam.
My door was fine but ripped the screws right out and left way bigger holes. So i used toothpicks and wood glue to fill in part of the holes. Let dry a day and rescrewed the door back in place. If you werent really looking hard, you wouldnt see it. Its been a year and still holding. I use the tarp bungees wball between the handles to keep them closed.

Ex: but found locally,
