Well, if you have what is supposed to be stainless steel then probably yes. Ours is. Very cheap low grade SS but it is. At least I can say, it acts like SS in every way. DW hates Stainless Steel so she knows how it acts very well. LOL.

Well we know ours is Stainless Steel, as we replaced the plastic look alike several years ago with a Moen twin bowl unit several years ago.

Again, very low grade cheap stainless steel. Stainless steel does water spot very badly and requires a lot of care. Using a vinegar water mix on it will help with the staining, and you can't leave water sit they need a ton of care. Hence why DW hates SS.

They are stainless. What gauge? I don't know. I use 16ga. sinks at home. My dad had me install an 18ga. for him years ago and it felt awfully flimsy but worked well for him. The ones in the RVs aren't any heavier than that I don't think....maybe even 20ga. although his 18ga. felt like you could push a butter knife in it and make a dent.
I like SS in a sink, DW is sort of middle of the road. We've never had one rust or cause issues unlike enameled cast iron (stains etc.). The bottom strainers can start rusting but they're a snap to pull out and replace. SS appliances is another story so I won't go into that but if you're in the market look into fingerprint resistant black stainless steel.

If your friend is using steel wool soap pads and leaving them in the sink they can stain the cheap SS sinks. If you take a spoon and tap the bottom of the sink it will make a distinct metallic sound that plastic or fiberglass will not make.
