New Owner New Member! 2020 Passport 2900RL
Thanks for a forum to come to for learning more about RVing. First trip in it successful with no hiccups except for the drive home in 25mph winds across Tennessee. Winterized it when we got home. Closed off the bottom intake to water heater as instructed, however, no anti-freeze came thru hot water faucets in kitchen and bathroom. Did I close off the wrong cut-off on the heater. Mine has an upper and lower cut-off. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I would think you have to turn both to isolate the water heater. Did you have the plug/anode out while winterizing? If not the tank may have some antifreeze in it. If you had the plug/anode out, did antifreeze come from that location? Once the water heater is isolated it should not take much antifreeze other than just filling the lines like the cold water side did.

thanks for the feedback. According to the Keystone videos I've watched only the lower cutoff was closed. I did have the plug removed as recommended and did not have any antifreeze leak out of the water heater so I know none of it got into the heater.

Well as you said the first trip was a success. So you had hot water working and coming out the kitchen and Bathrooms. You shut lower valve and now when winterized you have no antifreeze coming out the hot faucet. Open the bottom valve and close top valve. maybe they have some line reversed. It probably won't make any sense but I would try it anyway since the bottom valve is the only thing that has been changed.

We purchased our 2021 Passport GT 2900RL in August so we could get away safely with COVID everywhere. We’ve done 3 successful local trips with our 17 year old grandson. One successful trip with just the two of us. We winterized the RV using information we got from our dealer, Keystone and You-Tube. I can’t wait to start traveling further and further from home. I’ve never seen the USA west of Ohio!
We’re towing the 33.6’ trailer behind our Ford 250XLT.

Congrats on the new trailer! Sounds like you are getting some time under your belt with the new trailer....that's good. Venturing further and further....that's better!
Don't know your age but if you have a 17 year old grandson maybe you are retired? If so, you've got a good rig for "hitting the road" and "seeing the sights". Lots of neat, cool, fun stuff W and S of Ohio.

We’re not retired yet, hopefully in the next couple years. For now we need to stay fairly close to home. We have a 95 year old parent in our household so when we can go, we do.

I am thinking of buying a 2021 passport 2700rl or a 2870rl. I plan to pull this with a dodge ram 1500 any thoughts. Is this a solid camper?

You can go to New Member Check In, check new thread, title as you want and introduce yourself, tow vehicle and trailer. I would then go to the towing forum and post the question have asked above. Placing it here, in a long thread, will not get all the responses you want....and you will get a lot of them from good, knowledgeable members.
