17 raptor 428sp fiberglass crack

Ready to pull the trigger on a 2018 raptor 428sp. Been reading reports of frame failure leading to cracking in the fiberglass under the bedroom slide. This required the reinforceing the frame.

Does anyone here know if they corrected this issue with the 2018 or are the 2018s experiencing this same issue.

Thanks.

I don't know.
Keystone may or may not answer it. The frame source seems to be Lippert - so the question is: Have they made frame changes to for the Raptor?

And frame breaks/cracks don't necessarily seem to be isolated to the Raptor, although it is one of the nice / heavy models.

I will say that Keystone's "book warranty" on the frame has - or will change (not sure which) - I remember that this warranty has a go-live date.

And again, the Lippert frame may carry a 3-year warranty "anyway" as it's a sub-component. Then again, read this thread below - some questions on what "frame" coverage is:

http://www.keystoneforums.com/forums...ad.php?t=30957

Note, attaching "anything" to the frame and you're looking at a void warranty:

"Damage or loss caused in whole or in part by the un
authorized attachments, modifications or alteration
s to the structure, body, pin
box, or frame of the RV including but not limited t
o trailer hitches for towing, or platforms for supp
orting cargo;"

No cracks yet but there is a covered joint or seam at the point where I thought they'd had issues. I think that's what they are doing to allow some movement without stressing the fiberglass. Yes they have made frame changes...the 17s were a stacked or a dropped I-beam frame section on the front similar to the Grand Designs. Now they are a straight I-beam frame design, doing so took away from the front storage area also.

Been a few discussions about that, might want to search. Only thing I remember for sure-don’t drive yourself to the drive test.

I have a 2017 Fuzion 422 X-Edition. I have taken to a shop due to a seam on the side where the bed room slide is. The seam has broken the sealant and moved. I don't know what is going to be done about this .

This is probably a good idea. I can tell you that in Texas, they didn't ask me.. :-)

Of course, my buddy that had gone out to lunch dropped me off.
