Goodyear Endurance

After a lot of research I pulled the trigger on a set of 225/7515 G/Y Endurance for my 23RB. Was leaning towards the Marathons until I pulled a wheel and saw the rims were rated for an 80 psi tire. $563.00 out the door. I guess time will tell if I made the right choice. Leaving tomorrow for a 4 hour drive.

I suppose someone has to be first to use the new tire. Luck to you.

Reading a lot of good things about these tires.. I hope it continues, thinking I will get them next spring, if my current ones hold for the rest of the year...

Wishing you luck with the new tires. Hope GY got their act back together with these tires so we have an American made trailer tire again. Let us know how they go.

Zuley,

Did you get the D or E load range?

If E, I am curious how they ride.

GY must be overjoyed with the number of people paying to test a new product. $563 to replace all 5 is not too bad, only $75 - $100 more than 5 Carlisle HD or Maxxis 8008. Hopefully they have great reviews in 5 years.

CapnJohn, I only purchased 4. 125.00 each installed plus our Canadian HST. I was happy with the price. Carlisles D rated would have been 25.00 per tire less. To answer Slows question I went with the E load range. Only towed a few miles on the hwy home again but I did notice a difference towing (smoother ride). Whether or not it was a mind game I'll confirm this aft as we leave on a 400 km trip.

Just put them on my 5th wheel yesterday. The one thing i noticed right away was there was a lot less side wall flex compared to the marathons i had on before. With the stiffer side walls and higher air pressures i think this will be a much better tire, time will tell. Will know more after our 2,000 mile round trip to Glacier Natl. Park and back in two weeks.

We just returned from that area, stayed in Columbia Falls, about 15 minutes west of the west entrance.

So we just returned last eveing from our summer vacation after installing the new Endurance tires. Just over 700 km return. Ran the tires at 75 PSI. Set the cruise at 100 k and sat back and enjoyed the drive both ways. Trailer felt a lot more stable on the road. Cranked the wheel on an open stretch of road to check for sway. Certainly an improvement over the OE tire in regards to tracking. Very happy with them.

With my PowerKing "D" tires going on their 6th year and 3,013 I purchased 4 new Goodyear Endurance "E" rated ST225/75R15 tires. Tires were dated from 0117 to 0617, weight 34Lb, definitely a huskier tire. Max load at 80PSI 2,830Lb, Made in USA. Tires feature a scuff guard and side of tire states that the tread is 2 Steel, 2 Nylon and 2 Polyester while the sidewall is 2 Polestar. Trailer scale weight is 6,100Lb when hitched to Tundra this drops to 5,500Lb scale weight.
Tires installed 5/3/2017 by Discount Tires, used rubber based brass top high-pressure 155PSI valve stems with Tire Minder sending units, not pass through type. Tires were balanced; cost $121 per tire plus balancing and disposal of old tires. 240 Mile first trip down I5 and back in temperature up to 84 Cruize control at 55, max speed about 60. Tires set by Discount Tire at 80 PSI, Tire Minder showed that all four tires while running at speed did not deviate from each other by more then 1.7Lb and temperature by more the 4 degree's with the ambient temperature at 79 to 84, tire high temperature 86. Traveling South to North so the sun hit one side of trailer as well as rear tire does not get as much airflow as front. Bottom line, drove to and from camp sight with unaccustomed confidence in my tires, seemed to have less rolling resistance and otherwise could not tell the difference from PowerKing. No marks on wheels from Tire Minder sending units. Tires just warm to my hand at rest stops. Will report any problems.
Update: 3 trips on tires and 726 miles in the summer heat, as above, no excess heating or PSI noted by Tire Minder. On rest stops the tires are only warm to my hand and have worked perfectly and I am happy that the workers at Goodyear USA received my money.

What brand tire did you take off? I have this Trailer King tires on my 334RDB and have heard horror stories about them shredding and live you stranded on the road.

Jmath, you need to run, not walk, to the tire dealer and get them to rip your China bombs off your trailer. Sailun, Carlyle, Maxxis; just three of the generally accepted replacements.
