Thermostat relocate

Not sure what genius thought it would be great to put the thermostat right next to the bunk stairs. Not only has my daughter kicked it at least once, turning off the furnace, while getting into bed but the privacy curtain directly covers it blocking any airflow to properly regulate the temp. Would have been so much better to put it by the control panel directly across from where it is now. Simplified wire run as well.

Thinking about running a new wire from the furnace. Can I use a more residential thermostat? Maybe with a digital display?

As a rule, Home thermostats are 24V I think. RV thermostats are 12V. We have had members swap them out, what do you plan on doing with the hole? The thermostat wiring had to be routed to the return duct of the roof AC since that’s where the control board is.

Well crap. I can deal with any hole but so used to residential hvac being controlled from the same place I forgot they are separate systems in the trailer.
