....NEGATIVE MEMBER COMMENTS DELETED...

I did my own troubleshooting and found the fuse & wiring were good all the way to the tailgate. There’s no “MANUAL” override for the 2017 SuperDuty tailgate short of complete disassembly of the tailgate which would have rendered it useless. Oh, and there was this issue of warranty and the ford service contract that had to be considered.

I found out that if one or both of those blocks gets rotated 90 degrees up or down, the tailgate won't open..

Push your tailgate. Literally put your hand on the left or right of the handle, push in with some force, and then try to open the tailgate with the fob or the button under the handle, while applying pressure with the other hand. I bet your tailgate will open!

Look for the two blocks. See if one of them is facing the wrong way. Once I fixed that, my tailgate was good as new!
MagneticTiger, Sir one of my tailgate blocks is turned the wrong way as you mentioned. How do I turn the block the correct way?
Found this on a FORD forum

2019 F350 Lariat. Tailgate decided to open itself somewhere during the 2 hour drive. Here’s the front of my fifth wheel now. Good way to start out a camping trip!

At least it is a compartment door and not the area next to it or a split door. It doesn't make it seem better but at least this is easier to fix.

Well FCA didn't issue a recall until May, 09, 2019. I had mine repaired on June, 3rd.
