Self service campground

A first for us. We needed an overnight stop near Tallahassee and found a self service campground. No one on duty, all communication is by a "fill in the box" internet site. Someone does put a orange cone with your name on it in your reserved site. If there is no cone you can use the site and put your money in a box. No amenities. No pool, no playground. There is a place to walk a dog.
This one is named A Stones Throw RV Park. And it is a stones throw from I-10. Yes, plenty of road noise.
I think it is $30. Sounds like a good business model to me. Almost "hands off".

Was this just to the E of Tallahassee? I think I know where you're talking about. I was visiting with another park owner and they mentioned it I believe. Drove by it but it was too close to the interstate. Sort of on a hill if I recall?

Yes, that's it. Kinda tucked in behind a gas station and next to McDonalds.
It really wasn't too bad. The trailer leveled itself fairly quick and we hooked up and were good. But oh yeah, plenty of road noise. Two shots of Jim Beam and I was out. Woke up at 4, but went back to sleep till 6.
If I was 10 years younger and wanting to risk some capital, this could work. Obviously in a better location. There wasn't much spent on A Stones Throw, an un-needed office building, the web site, the utilities, gravel, and some trees.
Whew...wore out..drove from east of Tallahassee to Livingston LA., Lakeside RV. Johns old stomping grounds.
