Getting ready to go

Today I cleaned "The Beast" and started packing it for our first trip of the year.
We are going to Pigeon Forge in March for Ponies in the Smokies. A wonderful gathering of 1200 Ford Mustangs.

Looked out the window and sighed because there is still a pile of snow in front of it.

Uncovered and moved it into it's "summer" spot in our driveway....tested all the mechanical systems, fired up both fridges.

We are getting a run of dry warm weather here in the Pacific NorthWet so later this week I'll de-winterize, check the tire pressures and adjust, and fill the propane tanks...then on Friday it goes into the dealer for lube, seal inspection and touch up, and a couple odd minor repairs that I don't feel like tackling myself.

Lots to do ahead of our first trip in April but sooooo glad it's almost time to head out again!

Finished installation of the Roadmaster Comfort Ride shock system. Plan on traveling some BLM roads this summer and they tend to be rough.

Well got crazy and scrubbed the roof of our Copper Canyon, the Heng’s coating we put on in August of 21 still decent, but will likely re-coat this summer.

Overpaid for a set of "Trailer Master" China bombs instead of the Carlisles I was promised, because the old tires were damaged and I was on a destination deadline. Tire guy saw me coming, now he can watch me going.

HAHA, went to storage place and took the snow off the cover 10 days ago, let it dry out nice during the warm weather and took it off this past weekend and made an appt to get the bearings packed today. Woke up to an inch of snow with frozen ice on any paved surface...called to cancel my appt since I can't get it out a hill at storage and made a new appt for next week. Well 16" of snow predicted for this weekend! Looks like we will be prepping at the storage facility except for flush/water and hopefully can get it out of there before our trip the end of the first week in April!

Well the good news is it is light and fluffy....the bad news is that the 16" of snow ended up being 28" of snow...guess the bearing repacking will have to wait another week.

I put a gas strut (found some 10inch on the internet) on the cabinet above the frig. YEAH...no more stuffing a roll of paper towel in it to hold open.
I also brought the plug from the ceiling above the happy jac in the garage down to make it easier to plug phones and computers in.

Also added some Duraflaps on the rear and some Husky flaps on the front. Both pretty easy to install. I went with the extra long in the rear. Hopefully I'm not dragging them into shape down road. We get on gravel roads sometimes and I didn't want to put those goofy looking Rock tamers on the rear.

Edit...almost forgot I added a set of 7500XL bags on the rear also. But all I did was pay for everything!

Whew...I'm exhausted, think I'll make a Davearita and sit down to relax!

Put a coat of sealant on the front to help with the bug splatter.

Lots of wind and rain during the night so I went and checked for leaks. I re-siliconed the LED light strips where they had leaks. Seemed to be OK this morning. This is on a '22 Cougar RDS with the front windshield.
