hooking up grill

Just got back from another trip. What a great time. I'm now the very happpy owner of a Weber Q. But what I don't like is the little propane bottles. Any ideas on the best method of upgrading. Should I just buy the extension hose and get a large bottle. Or would it be best to hook up directly to the two 30lb. tanks I already have with the camper?

Using the small propane bottles is an expensive way to go. I have used a 10lb propane tank with hose for our Weber and that works fine. The advantage of this is that it is light and can be easily moved about. Have also used the regular 20lb tank as well.
Others on here have their BBQ hooked up to the quick connect propane already on the unit. A portable table or one that is attached and folds down would be required for this set-up. Both setups have their advantages and disadvantages so I think it comes down to personal preference. Both are vastly superior and less costly than the little bottles you have been using now.

I use a propane adapter tee and a 12' hose from one of my 30lb. tanks. Works great and stores in the tank compartment without unhooking. May be available elsewhere for less $$$ but CW was convenient.

Just be sure to hook your grill up to an unregulated source and use the regulator that came with your Weber. (straight from the LP tank)

I use the same set up as hankpage. It's very convenient. If you are going to go the quick disconnect route to the outside connection for the outdoor kitchen, you will have to remove the regulator on the grill since you will be tapping into a line on the low pressure side.

Weber makes a folding cart for the Q series grills which also works great.
