Water leak in front wall

My 2022 Springdale 202QB has had a slow leak in a small section the front wall of the trailer. Rain water when the winds are 20+ MPH seeps up through one of the 2 seams that run the width of the trailer. Since there is a small gap along the lower overlapping edge of each seam, I assume that the water is being blown up and through this small gap on the door-side of the front wall of the trailer.

My question is about caulking the gap. I've never seen a Springdale caulked in this spot. Is it alright to do this? Should I caulk the full length of both seams?

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks.

Using sealant isn’t a bad thing at all. Covering the entire seam isn’t a bad thing either. Use self leveling lap sealant on the top horizontal surface and non self leveling on the vertical surfaces.

Your roof is probably TPO by Alpha systems, so I would use their products, Dicor will work if you can’t get the Alpha.

Reading your post, I am guessing the strip that covers the front cap and roof is where the leak is occurring? If this is the case, I would use caution with the self leveling because when it gets hot it will run down over your cap and make a mess if it is on any sort of sloping surface. I would stick with non-self leveling. Ask me how I know.

Is this the seal you are referring to? If so, I agree this is terrible.

What did you end up doing?

If it were mine, I would remove all of the sealant, clean it to prep for new sealant and apply Dicor.

Not OP but do have a question. Best way to remove the old sealant?

Mineral spirits illegal here in the People's Republic of California.

Unless there is some obvious damage there is simply No Need to remove all the existing self leveling sealant on the roof membrane at the joint strip.

** DO NOT use mineral spirits on that Alpha system TPO membrane.. use alcohol instead if you need to clean an area to reseal... and simply apply new sealant right over the existing self leveling sealant
