What to use to repair bathroom sink
We let the wife's adult children use our 2018 Bullet Premier for several days, and when we used it this past weekend, I noticed there was a divot in the bathroom sink. It appears that a hot curling iron or something close to that melted the sink, leaving the divot. It does not go through the sink basin, but I would like to repair it, and would like to know what I should use to do the repair. Can anyone help? Thank you.

I would use the wife's kids credit card and order a new sink and replace it. Other than that I'm not sure what you would do to repair a melted "divot" in a plastic sink bowl. That's exactly why you don't let folks use an RV - family or not....just like by boats, vacation home etc.

Unfortunately, you have two choices: live with the divet since it sounds like the sink isn't leaking where the divet is, or replace the sink, as previously suggested. Even if you could find something that would bond to the sink's plastic, it would probably end up looking worse than the divet IMHO. It would certainly take as much, or more, time than replacing the sink.

Thank you for your answers, but I won't be using the girls credit cards to get a new sink. I want to stay on my Wife's good side.

You can order a new sink from Trekwood for about $25: https://www.trekwood.com/products/69...y-10-x-13-Oval
Installing a new one is easy, just have a faucet wrench (harbor freight for $4.79 with 20% coupon) https://www.harborfreight.com/12-inc...nch-91958.html
I'd suppose that keeping the peace and harmony intact is worth the $30 cost.... I'd also use the event as a "learning point in lending"..... YMMV

Take advantage of the opportunity to get a better quality sink.

At least a better faucet. My wife hates ours. Being we're spending a lot more time in ours, that's on the to do list.

Reminded me of my kitchen sink that got a crack in the paper thin bottom spraying water every where on a resent trip . The eternabond on the bottom and lock tight glue on top it still holds water .

I’m conflicted:
Good angel: replace the sink
Bad angel: leave the sink as is to remind DW why it’s a bad idea to lend out the RV
DW makes the call - of course

Yup, never seems to come back the way it went out.
Cbrez- I like your idea, leave it as a reminder!
Billsr- I hate our sink in our '15 Outback 316RL so am always looking for a reason to upgrade, but a physical reminder can be a powerful thing for the DW as well as the kids as to why nobody gets to use the camper! But to your question, maybe some type of epoxy to fill the divot and eterna bond on the underside that Roadglide suggested to ensure no leaks. Otherwise, replacing maybe the best way.

Cbrez has the best idea I have heard as long as the divot doesn't drive you crazy in the mean time. Maybe change it next year after your wife has told her girls they can't use it again.

You can repair this 2 different ways. 1 is to use either a clear or white epoxy and fill in the divot in stages. The other is to use a white Marine Epoxy and fill then sand with a 1000 grit wet sand paper. Both are much cheaper than a new sink.

Yep, right on.
My vote: replace the sink. They really aren't that expensive.

I'd leave it just like they did as a constant reminder to the wife of other things that could happen from loaning to family. It may cause a argument for a bit, but would definitely mention that those that done it should be responsible for the repair. To me it's very irresponsible for the kids to have not offered to pay for the repair already. I was taught if you borrow something you return it in as good or better shape than when you got it.

It's better to replace the sink.
