Door window leak

Hey all- out here camping and a heavy rain storm blew through. I go to take a shower and observe water is dripping out from below the plastic trim of the window on my rear door. This is a simple fix, right? Just take the trim off, pull the window out and reseal? Is this a butyl tape job, or another sealant? Thanks!

I have taken the door windows outs a few times. None were sealed, unscrew the screws on the inside, best to have a person holding the glass on the outer side. On mine there is a plastic inner and outer trim with glass between, thats all. The plastic trim has tabs that hold the glass. I sealed mine by running a bead of clear sealant across the top of the outer trim and all around the glass. Others may have other means to deal with that. I do not recall the sealant I used.

I did the same as Ken described but used black automotive glazing putty instead of silicone.

Anything's better than silicone!!! Especially if smeared on the outside seal. I'm sure Chuckster has seen plenty of silicone repairs botched on rvs.

Thanks Ken and Slow. I did an inspection this morning after the rain had stopped and i actually have a small crack in the plastic trim that frames the window, on the outside. The crack is about as wide as the thickness of a dime and is on the flat horizontal part of the frame, abutting the window, so that could easily be where the rain was entering
It was biblically pouring at the time of the leak.
