Looking for Information on Montana Model 3711 FL

New member here. I am considering a Montana 3711 FL. Is there anyone out there that has one, or similar as I have a few questions? Thanks.

Here is my scale weights hooked to a F350 1 ton Diesel with payload of 3744 and lightly loaded for weekend trip. You can see that I'm really close to the GVWR of 11,500 on my truck.

http://towingplanner.com/ActualWeigh...&w2da=3480&a=2

I put about 8,000 miles on it and some of those miles were some white knuckle experiences. My truck was 1 ton but had a 141 inch wheelbase which is the shortest wheelbase of a 2015 1 ton. What I believe the problem was is most the storage is over or behind the axles and so is most the weight of the RV. When you get side wind the rear with all that weight would sway and move the truck to the point we had to pull over. I talk to others that had a long bed or DRW and they didn't have the same problem but seems even the short bed crew cab guys were saying that didn't tow as well as there last 5er.

Floor plan we loved and the living room was nice and we never had a major problem with the 5er. The awnings are almost worthless since the slides take up most the space. There was only one recliner and couches are typical and not very comfortable.

Thank you for the information. What year was your Montana 3711FL if I may ask?

It was a 2016 model bought in Feb 2016 and sold Oct 2016 with just over 8,000 miles towing it.

I have a 3710FL which is the sister to the 3711FL. The difference being the residential fridge in the 3711 vs the RV fridge in the 3710.

This said, I pull with an 06 F350 CC dually diesel. Luckily my 06 is a Towmax truck which puts this unit close to the limits of my 06. The newer TV's have higher capacities than my old beast does.

If you are seriously considering the 3711FL, I highly recommend a 1 ton long bed dually truck. The pin weight is high and you will find the extra set of tires does help stabilize things quite a bit.

My .02 cents worth.

Mike

We have a 2016 3711FL also and we love it, but as CWSWine mentioned, the awning is kind of a bust because the dining slide consumes a lot of the area. We still have plenty of room for a picnic table and chairs if we're sitting outside. Our TV is a 2004, Ram 3500, dually long bed, with 70,000 miles, which tows the camper with ease and little or no sway, but I have felt it behind the truck with a 25mph cross wind. Overall, it's great for the DW, our 2 dogs and me. We're very happy with it because of the front living, king bed, and residential fridge.
