MCD Shades Stuck
Night shade slipped out of our hands and went all the way up. Now it’s stuck. Any ideas how to get it working again? 2 shades did this today.

TBOS, I don't have an answer, but I can tell you that if you contact the manufacturer they will take care of you. They have a great reputation for customer service.

Have had the same issue - take it down from the brackets and get it aligned again - reinstall in brackets - should work fine.

It is straight on the roller. I was able to lower it by pressing in on the center of the left side. Have to press it to take it back up too. The other one I made the mistake of pressing in on the spring side. Now it lost tension and doesn’t want to adjust properly either. Do I need to take the whole assembly down from the valance?

If you can get a small flathead screwdriver in the space, you can adjust the tension and upper stop without removing the shade. I use this:

Well I tried adjusting the shades. I was able to release them so I could manually raise and lower them. When I release the center of the height adjustment the shades locks. I guess the dealer will fix these with other warranty issues in August.

We are now up to 4 shades being stuck. It happens when it slips out of someone’s hands. Any more ideas?

Loosen the tension, if it slips out of your hand it will raise slowly, then reset the upper limit.

I’ll have to give that another try. I’ve only tried adjusting the tension on one of them and it’s very slow going up but you have to push in on the limit side to get it to move. Adjusting it on that side (limit side) doesn’t seem to accomplish anything.

The limit side only limits how far the shade goes up. I don’t recall right now which way does what, but we set them to stop at the bottom of the valence. As a rule we unclip them and after we have it adjusted we put the shade back on. Hope this helps.
