wall paper? peeling off

I have a 2014 Sprinter 5th wheel. I noticed the other day that the ceiling of my dinette slide is crinkled under the bat covering a seam. First off I don't understand why they didn't make that ceiling the same as the regular ceiling. Looks like the used the same "wallpaper" that they use on the walls.

Anyway has anyone replaced the wallpaper or should I peel it off sand it and try to paint it?

I have had success using a warm wet rag and a heat gun set on LOW. Wipe the area making it damp, warm with the gun and press the paper back down. It will re activate the glue but be careful how much heat as too much will shrink the paper and it won't stick.
