Walking on slide roofs
Who walks on the slide roof to do the cleaning. Used to not do it, but with this 3721 it is going to be difficult to clean the roof without getting on the slide roof. I am talking 190 lbs.

you can walk on the top of a Montana slide. It was demonstrated at the Factory rally once. I used to do it all the time until I got toppers installed.

How about a brush on an extendable pole? There aren't any trusses in the slide roof. I would not walk on mine.

i just sit on the edge and rest my feet on the top of the slide and use a broom to sweep the junk off the slides. I never put my full weight on them or stand on them. I have six slides to keep clean...

I have a 2015 Cougar 334RDB 5er and the slides are fully walkable per the cougar brochure. I'm 180 pounds and I've walked on 2 of my 3 slide outs and have not had a problem. Thats for the full size Cougars, I dont know about the XTra lites.

I won't walk on the slides on my 13 Sydney fiver. I did once and heard a small crack. Felt like very thin decking, maybe luan? Anyway, I can clean it well using my extension brush. If I need to do other work on it, I'll use a ladder and access from the side.

I don't walk on side tops either. Adjust the slide so you can reach (whatever) or use a brush... For all I know it could be more solid than the actual roof, I've just never walked on them.

Never considered walking on the 3 slides on my 2016 Cougar 303 RLS. After the 31 day maiden voyage 730 miles from home I had toppers installed. Since then I;ve seen a couple leaves blown in and just get the blower out

The current 2015 and newer X-Lite slideouts can be walked on, per brochure and videos.

At 245#... no way! Power wash. or scrub brush with pole, or both.
Rent or buy... cheaper than ruining your whole day!?!

I guess it depends on the trailer. On our 345DBQ the slide roofs are rock solid.

3100RL: Never tried to walk on the slides but they seem to be pretty solid. I just get out the leaf blower and clean them from my ladder. Don't like climbing to the top of the trailer any more. When we move, I am up early and the dew is usually still on the roof. Too slick for an old fart like me to be walking around on it.

I don't as a rule though suppose that it's possible. To wash, I just use a collapsible extension handle with a brush and sit on the edge of the roof. If it only has debris to be removed, I'll just drag out a broom or a leaf blower. Both a wash and debris removal have been done in the past few days that way.

I've got one of those painters extendable poles. Use it to sweep the slides.

Blowing leaves off no problem. But my problem the top black rubber seals sometimes don't fold out like there suppost to. So you have to carefully go up there with out shoes to pull it out.
