This is a timely thread (for me) because just yesterday I removed my crappy Summit and installed a Samsung. At $250, the new tele is one of the cheapest upgrades I have done to the trailer since I got it.

As stated, just yesterday I replaced the crappy 39" Summit with a 40" Samsung. Both were VESA compliant with mounting holes at 200mm x 200mm. The Samsung fit on the OEM bracket perfectly. The only difference was that the Summit used 6mm screws and the Samsung uses 8mm screws so I did have to make a trip to the hardware store.

BUT - - I had to raise the OEM wall bracket about an inch to get the Samsung to clear the bottom of the recess that the tele fits in. What was interesting about that was that of the 13 screws fastening it to the wall, half went into a metal backing plate. The other half had no backing plate behind them and just went into the 3/16" wallboard.
6mm, 8mm? Are you talking M6 and M8? Those are pretty big screws or are you talking the length? Just curiious. As I recall, the screws used on those TV brackets are kind of puny and the pattern is such that they will fit most any mount. We had a 40" and switched to a 32" as we sit less than 8' from the TV and the 40" was overwhelming.

M6 and M8.
The Summit used M6 x 20 screws - - 20mm in length = a bit longer than 3/4"
The Samsung used M8. I used 25mm length = just under 1"
The Samsung instructions (see picture) said 20-21mm length but I found that too short. I used the M8 x 25 with a flat washer and a lock washer and they tightened up fine.

The threaded portion of the mounting holes on the Summit was very near the surface. The threaded portion of the Samsung mounting holes was recessed quite a bit so needed a longer screw.

I am very familiar with metric screws/bolts. My business is vintage Japanese carburetor rebuilding/sales and I buy them by the thousands. Surprised a TV uses M8 hardware. That is motor mount size on some bikes.

Can you get the remote to bring up the setup screen by pressing Menu on Remote?
Confirm tv antenna cable is connect to correct jack at each end. Is the antenna amplifier turned on? (if your jack has an on/off button).
MENU - CHANNEL - Air or cable - Auto Scan
Check the input is set to antenna or cable and not HDMI or other port. Do a channel scan.
Make sure that settings are not on store demo mode.

I’m sorry for both of us that Keystone chose to stick us with something as inferior as Summit in our rigs. Hated it since we took delivery.
I’ve learned to get used to it, but believe me when it goes out I’ll take it and throw it in the recycle grinder myself after I drive over it on the way to recycle.

I didn’t read all the posts… you’ve done more troubleshooting than the Summit deserves.
Time to send it to the farm to be made into chicklets.
You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the low prices now of 4K TV’s from Samsung or Vizio now.
Be sure to compare tv case dimensions with your tv mount opening instead of the brands screen dimensions. Thinner outside dim. of case can make for bigger screen dimensions.

a suggestion

We replaced our tv here at home, around Christmas, and we went with the ONN brand that Walmart sells. We got a 55" for $298. We have been very pleased with it. Its a Roku Smart TV.
You may want to look at one of those. The prices on the new smart tv's have really went down.

I had issues with my TV doing the same thing. Try unplugging the TV and plugging it back in. Do the same with the Coax cable. If you have the articulating arms, it can pinch cables and/or pull them enough so they wiggle loose, but not completed disconnected. No problems since.

You might contact your local Best Buy and ask if they will remove the old one and install the new one. They install much of what they sell.
