Smile New to the Forum

Hello all, Just wanted to drop in and say Hi. My wife and I just purchased the 303TG with the new aerodynamic front end. Looks great. We are scheduled to pick it up on the 21st and will be using for the first time during Memorial Weekend. Can't wait. We will be towing it with a F150 4x2 SuperCrew w/ 3.55 axel. Was told that this would handle it w/o a problem. Hope everyone was right. Upgrading from a 2006 Fleetwood Bayside pop-up. Looking forward to enjoying this trailer for a long time.

Welcome to our group! There are a few Laredo 303TG owners here so you are not alone. If you use the forum's Search feature and type in Laredo 303TG or 303TG, you will find numerous posts about this particular model with comments from those owners -- what they tow it with, first impressions, etc. You might also want to browse through the Towing and Tow Vehicle section for additional comments on towing with an F150 or do another search (towing F150 or F150). Lately, there has been a lot of discussion about this aspect.
Hope you have many enjoyable trips with your new RV.

Ricoshet1231, Welcome!!
We too just picked up our new 303TG. Mfg Date 4/7/11. Pretty sweet. Brought it home with our Chevy Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab w/ 5.3L & 3.73 axle. It towed really good with our Equalizer 12K lbs. WD/Sway hitch. Significant inclines are going to work the truck; and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a Trans Temp Guage, and a larger Trans Cooler. Other than the inclines; I think the entire rig is very stable. I'll let you know when I finally hit the freeway with it Memorial Day weekend. We're only going about 20 miles from home; but there are a few ups n downs.

To say it will handle it w/o a problem is possibly an overstatement. I think the trailer definately pushes the limits of the drivetrain; but your road conditions and usage frequency are all considerable factors. If you are taking it to a seasonal slip; and rarely ever going to pull it; then I agree with that statement. If you plan to run 100 miles every weekend for the entire summer with it; then I'd say you need to pay attention to the engine and transmission fluids for excessive wear.

Meant to tell you I really like this guide: http://www.trailerlife.com/output.cfm?id=42175
I don't think it's fact; but gives a pretty nice picture of the differences between all models.

MODEL - ENGINE - TOW - NOTES
2004 1500 Crew Cab 4WD SB - 5.3L V-8 - 7,500 - c,f
c = 3.73:1; f = Automatic transmission

2004 F-150 SuperCrew RWD 138.5" WB 4.6L V-8 6,200 c,j
2004 F-150 SuperCrew RWD 138.5" WB 5.4L V-8 8,500 c,j
c = 3.55:1 axle ratio; j = automatic transmission

2007 F-150 SuperCrew 2WD 4.6L V-8 6,300 a,r
2007 F-150 SuperCrew 2WD 5.4L V-8 8,500 a,r
a=Automatic transmission; r=3.55:1 axle ratio

Hope this helps

Ricochet1231 Welcome aboard.
I do not have the 303TG, but decided to go with its baby sister the 291TG. I have not towed it too much yet as I only got her last week too.
I plan on going out the same weekend (called the May 24 here in Canada) and hope to have a fun filled maiden voyage too.
I have a similar setup as you for a TV and know I will not be winning any races...slow and steady.

Welcome to the family. We are towing ours with a 08' Tundra 5.7L V8. We already have the tow package which includes the extra cooling systems and guages. As was already mentioned spend some time researching the forums. Have fun.
