Considering Grill Arm Modification

Hi,

For those of you with one of these steel bumper-mounted grill arms. Has anyone modified theirs to swing out more than 90 degrees from the bumper? It would involve cutting out the existing swing stop rod and then possibly drilling some new holes in the hinge bracket to insert a second removable hitch pin. Any pitfalls to this mod that you've encountered and can tell me about before I start cutting and drilling?

For some reason I cannot "insert" pics inline from my local hard drive, so I have "attached" some relevant images instead.
