Gap between fender and slideout
Ref picture where there is about a 3 - 4 inch gap between the passenger side fender and tje slideout. Dealer claims this is normal but opposite side is flush.

If there isn’t a slide on the other side, it is normal.

The rear (downwind) side of my slide is similar. The front is much tighter, which makes sense for the direction of travel.

Ask the dealer to walk with you and look at same/similar models on the lot. If they look like yours then I guess it's "normal" , if not ask why the discrepancy.

I think you'll find it's normal. Mine are like that. They are split with the front piece on the main wall and the rest of the fender on the slide. The split is obviously so the slide can operate. I think you'll also find that the fender will want to come loose, lose screws and crack due to the wind funneled into the open portion on the front; if you don't lose the fender completely as I did.

Looks like a great air scoop. Be sure that all the hardware used to attach that thing is backed with silicone and the aluminum struts are setup well. I see these things shaking back and forth on lots of RVs going down the road.

I failed to add that I fabricated some supports from aluminum strips to reinforce the "scoop" front. The scoop grabs a lot of air and wants to pull the fender, and skirt, away from the trailer. It is not a very good design and one I will avoid on the next trailer.

Don't know what rig you pull but on our 3100RL, when it was still pretty new, the DW decided the carpets needed cleaning so she hired some outfit (I think we were in Calif at the time) to do it. When they left, they did not put the furniture back where it has to be when closing the slides. I failed to check first and the driver's side LR slide hit a chair and bent the carriage underneath, which made it stick out like your photo. Next time I had it in a shop, I asked if they could adjust it so it was flush with the side of the rig and they did. Might be worth a look.

Because it has the "scoop" out there on the slide doesn't mean it's not normal; thousands/millions of trailers have that design when crossing over the seam at a slide - I see them all the time. Your call to action is to fix what is going to be a problem. Some tell you it's not normal simply because they have no experience yet assume they are an authoritative source;

What you have to look at is where the fender skirt is mounted. It may be mounted to the facia and that would make it sit “out” further than the piece that was mounted to the exterior side of the trailer. I see it on lots of different brands, and types of slides ( hydraulic, schwintek, electric, cable...etc).
If the SLIDE is sealed when retracted and the skirt edges line up, then I don’t see a problem.

How about a picture of the matching slide on the other side? I don't see how the fender could be mounted flush if it is mounted on the slide. The outer face of the slide sits out about 3/4 of an inch from the side of the RV.
