Black Tank question 361 LEV

Dumb question but I don't have the coach physically in my hands yet. How many black and grey tanks does the Raptor 361 LEV have?

I have read where older models had two and the second operator valve was hidden away between the axles.

I have seen the cargo door marked "Sewer hose" and inside there are two handles to dump the black and grey, are there any others?

Thanks
Dan

My 09 has one black tank and two gray. I have a black and gray dump valve in the sewer compartment plus one gray dump valve under the coach right before the sewer hose connector

Tunnel Vision, you probably have three tanks total. One black water, one grey water for your bathroom and one grey water for your kitchen. Our Raptor had the black and grey handles under the basement door and one handle behind the rear tire on street side. Get on your hands and knees and look behind the rear wheel. It is probably in that area.

Let me add to the confusion a bit: There are two floorplans for the 361LEV. It looks like the early ones (2008-2010) had one toilet. Those would have only one black tank. The later floorplans have a second bath with a second toilet. Those would have two black tanks.

Essentially, in an RV, there is not enough water used with each toilet flush to "push the waste" horizontally, so there is a black tank under each toilet. Otherwise, you'd always have a "plugged up toilet" from waste sitting in the horizontal run.

So, I don't see any indication of the model year for your 361, so you could have either one or two black tanks, depending on the number of toilets. Keep in mind that on many (maybe even most) RV's with a second bath, the toilet and sink both dump into that single tank. So it's really a "black/gray" tank.

JRTJH,

Sorry newbie here, its a 2010 with a single toilet. What you said about not enough water makes perfect since too.

Thank you
Dan

A 2010 with a single toilet will have one black tank, located directly under the toilet. You may have a short 45 degree run of 3" PVC, but essentially, it's a "straight vertical drop" into the tank from the toilet discharge.

2010 361LEV here. For the bathroom I have a black and gray tank and a gray tank for the kitchen sink. Same valve setup as well as mentioned above.

Just to add....i believe that the washer/dryer waste also drains to the rear toilets/ bath Black Tank. Since you mentioned it. So if it has the W/D Prep, likely it will also have the second black tank.

Don't assume that a W/D prep gets you a second black tank. Only a second potty gets you that. W/D drains into the kitchen grey.

My W/D drains to second Black. I rarely use the rear bath toilet (my second bath is toilet and sink only) but my rear tank fills. I have a W/D combo in garage. I also have a clear tank drain elbow. The rear black water is always soapy, and has a bluish color of the detergent used. So I'm 100% my W/D goes to rear black

Since the washer and 1/2 bath are right there together, I had wondered were everything went. I've not used the W/D hookup yet but I did find out the hard way that because I have 2 dump locations on mine, I figured the each one had a black and gray tank on each discharge, not so. The second gray tank also empties through the front dump location along with the front black and gray tanks. It only dumps toilet water and probably sink and Washer water through the rear discharge. I guess with having a black tank flush for both black tanks they didn't figure I'd want to rinse out my hose after dumping rear black tank.

Our FZ420 has 1 side outlet. 1 gray and 1 black valve handle in front side compartment for front tanks. And 1 black and 1 gray valve handles on frame under the side slide out for the rear tanks. So 4 waste tanks and valves total.

Rarely use the rear toilet. In face have not used it at all since the hurricane down here. We had to evacuate and used rear bath for storage. Not bad chance to clean it all out. So rear tank still gets full. We use washer every other day. Water is clean, soapy if we just ran a wash before dump and has a bluish color from the detergent.

The power wash tank cleaner system I know fills both black tanks.....ask me how I know

Going to do a power wash this weekend, and do a Geo Method douche on them. We shall see how well that works. Cause my rear black won't go past last level to empty on the display panel and the front says it's full even after drain. Been like that since we bought it

I have 2 black flush locations on my Raptor, one in convenience center for the rear blk tank and one on the door side of the rv between the front door and storage door for the front or main blk tank...not sure what they were thinking on that one but it's not very convenient that way.

So I went up and checked mine still not in my driveway yet but that’s another story and there is one black water valve inside the sewer hose box along with a gray valve inside of that same box and then in front of the front axle there is a second gray water valve.

Just an update to this thread, the valve handles are now routed to the proper location, and a big deal to me is that the rear black tank is plumbed into to the tank flush. Surprised the hell our of me! Bad part is that the way it's done it has no pressure back there at all, a mere trickle of water. I think I'll separate them, plumb the rear one out by the jack so I can get some pressure in the back tank. It'll be better than dumping 5 gallon buckets down the ****ter....
