Question 2015 Springdale 240 bhs under bunk storage

Just got it, new to me and am wondering if anyone has suggestions on accessing the storage under the bunk bed. I can't open it, keep it propped open with my back and be able to put anything in The bed lift kits I've seen say not to use for bunk. There has got to be a trick or tip to how to do this. Too much storage area to just not use. Have never posted before, so hope this correct.

Have you tried cutting a broom handle or similar to length and using it to prop it open?

That would be my suggestion as well. At least it'll get you through the interim until you devise a more "robust" system. Just think "hood prop rod" on an economy car and find that old broom.

Had an older TT one time and it did not have gas supports for the under bed storage. I took a piece of 3/8" rebar bent each end at 90 degrees, painted it and screwed electrical clamps to the base and the part you raise. Insert bent ends into clamps. Worked great and no chance of falling on the DWs head.

Are you talking about this huge hole? I removed the front trim piece, and an working on making a cabinet door so i can access it from the front. For now i just left it open.
