(more) BROKEN BLINDS

I would love to meet the genius behind RV day/night shades. SIGH.
Is there anyway to re-thread these things yourself?

If you type in "day and night shades" and use the forum search, you will find numerous posts which will steer you in the right direction regarding repair and/or replacement of these shades, strings, etc.

Yes, Dave, I do have a question. How do you get to the blind. Or rather, do you need to move that hard window surround?

If you get down low and look up into the inside of that hard window surround, you should see some brackets and screw heads. Just remove the screws and the whole surround comes off.

To put it back on, line up the holes in the surround with the holes in the brackets and put the screws back in.

If there is cloth material between the brackets and the surround box, use an indelible marker to mark the screw holes as you pull each screw. Don't move the surround until you've marked all the holes.

Cheers, Steve!

EDIT: I can FEEL the screw heads, but there is fabric over and around them. I have had one blind replaced at a dealership, and they must have done it without removing the surround. I'm curious how.
