2011 Alpine 3500 replacement sky light

greetings everyone

a recent hail storm took out my shower skylight, I am having a heck of a time finding info on it on line. Before I call a dealership , I wanted to check to see if anyone here could point me in the right direction

I have a 2011 3500RE

thanks!!

Try this:

I would note that you probably want to get the smoked one (IMO). We had a smoked skylight, had the dealership clean and seal roof and they broke it and I had them replace it. Came back with a clear one. Not so cool. Lets LOTS of sun in; not only bright but heat as well.

If you have a clear skylight over the shower, you can easily reduce the heat gain and also the light that passes through.

Remove the inside dome (skylights are two pieces, the rooftop plastic dome and the inside "finish dome". Tape a piece of perforated nonskid shelf liner (it looks like "sticky lace" to the top of the inside dome and reinstall the dome into the ceiling. The shelf liner will allow some light to pass through, but will eliminate almost all of the heat gain. We did ours the first summer we owned the trailer and the shelf liner is still functioning with no visible deterioration.

Here's a photo of what the shelf liner looks like and a couple of photos of the skylight from inside the trailer.

^^^^Yes, this is what we had to do after receiving the clear skylight!
