1st time out roof leaking
I just bought a new to me from a dealer a 2015 Cougar 313RLI, when I checked it out I found a wet spot in the bedroom closet, I confronted the salesman about it and he asked the service manager who came out with me to address my concern. He felt all around and said he thinks the wet spot was from a washing machine. I believed him and made the purchase. This past weekend I used it and it rained. When I went to bed I stepped on a wet spot and started looking around in the closet and everything was soaked. Water was dripping down from the cap. I was horrified after just buying this a day ago. The next day I called the dealer and talked to the guy who told me it wasn't leaking, he was nice and said bring it in and he would fix it. The wife and I don't trust that the inside insulation being wet will ever dry out even if the leak was fixed. I talked to the salesman and asked if they would give me back what I paid if I bought a new camper. They agreed so I am now buying a new Big Country Fifth Wheel that I really can't afford, but at least I can rid myself of the leaky one.

Buying something you can't afford is never a solution to a problem. If you can comftorably purchase the RV either through loan or various other means you won't be enjoying it. You'll instead be stressing about it. I would let them look it over first, maybe its not as bad as you are thinking.

Well they had just taken it in on a trade and I think the people who traded it got rid of the camper because of the leak. Also after the purchase we noticed the dining room chairs had mold growing underneath them, It's not that I cant afford it just wasn't what I was originally looking to spend.

I think your probably right. People trade in for very few reasons and repairs are one of the biggest.

I think Chuck is right. Better to cut the losses now than wait for it to just get worse.

It’s amazing how many trade-ins we get that qualify for POS status. We have kept a few and when I get them ready I’m known as “the gross killer”.

That's how the wife and I are thinking, if we wait it may be too late to get our money back. I am really not loosing any money, just spending more.
