As the sign in the butcher shop says: "If you don't like bacon, you're just wrong!"

Yuppers! Everything tastes better with bacon. Thick slices prefered.

Looking back to my school days I believe the four original foods were "Cheesecake, bacon, chili-cheese dogs, and pumpernickel bread." I understand the new 5th food group is Dairy Queen.

We went to lunch with our kids at Elmer's in Coeur d'Alene Saturday and I had a Bacon and Cheddar omelet... We wanted to back that up later with a stop at Daft Badger Brewery at get their Smoked Bacon with a Huckleberry Chipotle Glaze fortified with their Imperial Stout... But that trip didn't work out...

Hear, hear!! Since we are so close to National Bacon Day (NBD) and we are making a meatloaf, decided it needed an extra 1/2 lb. of bacon on top just to celebrate again!

Next best thing to bacon is scrapple. It's a Pennsylvania Dutch delight.

Flybouy, since you've taken a dive into things that will make your heart not only work harder, but possibly stop completely, how about that fine specimen of New Jersey culinary delight "Taylor Ham!"

Absolutely! And thanks for the cardiac warning but the DW is a retired NICU nurse that also taught nursing in college. She "let's" me have these delightful meats when we go camping. Another reason to keep the propane tanks full and the diesel topped off

And I would say that retired nurse is a "keeper." Unlike the stripers I have caught in the Chesapeake Bay. Everybody on the boat caught a 25 or better. Uh, sorry, not everybody.....not me.

Kept her or rather she's kept me for 38 yrs (20 of them happy) this March. I'm glad she doesn't read this forum as she hates it when I make that joke.
