River Link Tolls

WOW big brother is watching !!!

We took a road trip from Michigan to New Mexico a few weeks back.

In the mail today I received a bill for $14.00 I guess the bridge between Indiana and Kentucky does not have toll booth it took a picture of my trailer and plate and send me the bill.

No tolls around here yet. But, we drive to San Fran nearly every year and go from highway speed to a stop and wait in lines for 20-30 mins to get thru a toll. Cars cutting back and forth within inch's of your front bumper to get to a faster lane Then speed away as fast as all the others. I would think not needing to stop would be better.

At least it was just $14.00. I went through Dallas on 121 where they monitor with cameras on the toll roads (NTTA). Got a bill for about $3 in tolls and $85 in late fees. The trip had been 9 months previous and they sent the bill to me 9 MONTHS LATE and then charged me late fees. Their bill even showed the initial bill was 9 months after the date of the picture... A phone call and 15 minutes and it was fixed but it's just another example of how efficient "big brother" is.

That happened to us a couple of years ago when we crossed a bridge in Vancouver, BC. There were no toll booths to pay, and we got a bill in the mail, so big brother is international, apparently.

The last time we went from Louisiana to Galveston I thought it was strange that the highway signs were telling us to exit I10 so far east of Houston. Normally we exited on I-610 at the Budweiser brewery. Anyway, we followed the signs and exited as the signs indicated (there were no toll warnings) and by the time we got to Pearland we were about $60 lighter..... Sad part was stopping every 5 miles to pay a toll, so really, at the time of day we were travelling, we probably didn't save any time at all. I respect Sam Houston and what he did for Texas, but his "namesake tollway" is definitely not living up to his reputation.....

As long as we're whining, the motorcycle, sidecar and little trailer behind the bike to cross the George Washington bridge in New York City: $37.00 and the condition is deplorable!

Hope it was the best route, when we lived there we found a lot of people coming to our place got routed across the GWB, when then were better choices, plus cheaper!

We thought some of the GPS companies were in cahoots with the Tollways!

Didn’t know any better. I was on my way to navy base in Connecticut. Garmin had me go that way. $300.00 in road tolls in NY.

In Oklahoma they say once you drive the Will Rogers Turnpike, you understand why Will Rogers never met a man he didn't like.
