Leak in Rear Right Corner

I tagged on to another thread but thought it best to start my own. I have a 2008 Cougar rls. I have a leak in the top right back roof. I have pulled off the corner trim. What I've noticed is that the corner trim has a 3 inch turn at the top and that creates a place for water to pool. I've got a couple ideas, cut off the 3 inch trim piece, or put it all back and fill in the area with dicor. Has anyone tried anything else? Thanks

Kind of hard to envision the 3 inch turn you refer to. Perhaps posting a pic would help. I have removed ALL the rear trim from my last 5ver and covered the seam area with tape type stuff made for this purpose then sealed with non leveling Dicor. A picture might make advice from the smart folks on this forum more specific.
