Step light mod
Not liking the factory step light I decided to add some waterproof led ribbon lights controlled by a 'dusk to dawn' electric eye. These pictures were with the lights on full intensity and will have to be dimmed with the remote control. Can also change color from red, blue, green or white. Can also make them gradually fade thru red, blue and green. Can leave the lights on constantly or shut them off from the inside switch.

Nice and clean install but I kind of like the factory installed amber light instead.

Very cool!
I like the amber light too because I don't like a bright campsite most of the time. When out under the stars its cool to see as many as possible....lower light the better. I guess I could use green on dim or something. Might be nice to have bright white if you have elderly folks trying to get in and out of the trailer.
Again....cool mod!

We have dimmed them and we are not elderly, we're old! 72 & 71.

Step Light
We like the option of having a dark site too- especially in the desert. We installed blue led, flippable lights in place of the amber. That way I can turn them off, and I can aim them out towards the site- about 20+ft, or reduce it by flipping them up to aim at the trailer. So far, we've been pretty happy with them, and they don't bother other campsites around us with flashing colors! Even though I love changing colored lights.

I like them.
And we are not elderly, nor are we old; we are young persons who stayed alive for a longer period.

LED step light
This is what ours are like from about 30 feet away and tilted up towards the trailer.

Well then unlike other interested parties, this mod probably isn't for you then.

Looks great
it would be nice to be able to enhance these somewhat and have the option to dim or brighten as required. Just a question, is this something that is hard to do? Where did you get your lights from?

I just bought 2 of these, one for each step. I got them off ebay. They are 15" amber led turn signals. I will get them on soon and send pics. They have bright and dim, I was thinking of putting a switch inline to switch it from bright to dim.

I was very interested in those factory installed stairway lights but since my RV didn't come with one, I installed a LED amber light.
