check out this roof
My fifth wheel (see sig) is at the dealership waiting for an answer from Keystone on what to do about this roof. The rubber at the front AC has detached . The dealership is sending pictures and starting the claim this morning. Once I know that Keystone has received the pictures and claim, I'll be calling Keystone to insist that the entire rubber roof be replaced. I'm P.O. and will not accept anything less than full replacement.

Wow, it looks like the rubber was never glued to the substrate at all.

Please dont take this the wrong way but before you start making demands you might want to wait and see what they offer first. Sometimes demands dont go over very well.

I hear what your saying and I would normally agree but I was advised by someone who deals with Keystone. I'm told that because this is a major and costly issue, it's best to be firm and let them know what I want. I think most people would agree that if the first six feet of my roof looks like this, then the rest of the roof is questionable. If Keystone replaces the roof and makes this right, I'll be singing their praise.

Is it possible that the roof is getting an air bubble under it while driving down the road due to air pressure from a molding leak and stretching the material, just a thought, I have seen this happening many times before. You might hook up the tt and have someone in front of you look back and see if this is happening. Anyway it still probably needs replacing, my 2cents worth. Happy Campin.......Ron

The plywood may never have gotten wet. The rubber roofing can fail due to air intruding under it. It may be repaired by simply regluing the entire section, depends on what is found when the membrane is pulled up and examined. Hopefully you are dealing with a competent repair center, it makes a big difference. Very doubtful they will replace the entire roof. You should expect them to make it whole again, that is their responsibility under the terms of the warranty. Let us know what happens.

UPDATE. I just heard from Keystone. They have authorized my dearlership to replace the rubber roof and have agreed to repair any damage if water got under the rubber. We won't know if water got in until they pull up the old roof. I'll be asking the service guys what went wrong when the job is done.
Okay, it's time for me to sing the praise of Keystone. So far, Keystone has repaired or replaced everything that I've asked them to do. Prior to this roof issue there were only a few small warranty repairs that were taken care of with no problems.
Keystone has done right by me and although I was upset about what happened, I'm pleased with Keystone and their Customer Service Department. THANK YOU KEYSTONE.

Once they pull up the old roof I would want to see it with my own eyes.

I agree but mostly because my dealer was not very reliable, trustworthy, good,… should I keep going. If you trust your dealer, you're probably okay but it's not a bad idea either way really.
It's always nice to hear that Keystone stands behind something like this.

My neighbor (not a Keystone owner, his is a Cruiser) just had the same thing happen. We were towing over to Ohio and I noticed his roof was MUCH higher than it normally look (he was driving behind me on the Interstate). On examination he had a bubble going up about 2 feet or more when driving at 65mph. His original dealer couldn't get him in so I referenced him to my dealer - they took off the roof and said it appeared there was no glue at all on that section. Hey called Cruiser and they are covering 1/2 of the cost to reglue (not replace), although I urged him to have them at least pay all of the cost or maybe examine the rest of the roof. At least the bubble has disappeared now...
