Tapatalk Forum Support
I'd **LOVE** to see the addition of Tapatalk support for KeystoneRV.org. The application is available for iOS and Android devices and would make it considerably easier to use the forum while on the go using mobile devices. vBulletin includes native support for Tapatalk and it simply requires the forum admin to activate it.

Where in any version of 3.8.X is this option? This forum uses 3.8.1 and I have had on my forum.
I use 3.8.5 now and there is no such thing to activate from admin panel or server end.
Nothing native to vBulletin anyway. Actually I have never heard of Tapatalk till this post.
After reading about this.
It appears admin here would have to upload this HACK to server and activate for this to work.
There are easier ways to be mobile device friendly.

It's not a HACK, it's a plugin. I misspoke when I stated "native" support, I thought I had read somewhere that support was included in at least some build of vBulletin. I've never run vBulletin, but frequent several other forums that do....and support Tapatalk.
The app supports most all mobile operating systems and would certainly add additional capability and features to Keystonerv.org. I use BlackBerry, Android, and iOS (iPad and iPhone) and have found no method that provides the same features and ease of access. I'm not trying to rock the boat, but just requesting additional features and ease of accessing the forum while on the road.
Complete details available via the link included above to Tapatalk homepage. The latest app providing similar support is Forum Runner, but I have no experience with it to date.

Any third party software /plugin is referred to as a HACK. No disrespect was intended toward you, it's just the term used to describe them.

I'll second J.B.'s thoughts on TapaTalk. It is a fairly brilliant app and very user friendly.
I frequent a number of technical forums that have TapaTalk capability enabled, and that allows me to keep up with important discussions while on the go.
But if there is another way to make this forum just as mobile friendly that is easier or better for the sysop, I would still be supportive of adding it in.

Apologies to our Moderators if I am butting in, but . . .
As a former moderator for another Forum, the Moderators have no control whether to put TapaTalk on the Forum or not. It is up to the Forum provider (JelSoft Enterprises) and the Forum Adminstrator to impliment this feature. There are pros and cons to using TapaTalk, and I'm not going there! But, our Moderators have no control over the use of TapaTalk or not to TapaTalk.

Geo is right - the Moderators do not have any control over the implementation of TapaTalk on the forum. A request has been sent in to our Forum Administrator to look into TapaTalk and it will be essentially his decision along with JelSoft's as to whether or not it will become part of the forum. When we have received a response from him, we will let everyone know what he has to say. Stay tuned.

Just want to let everyone know I have installed the Tapatalk Plug-in (Hack) whatever you want to call it. It was quite simple and very easy to put in place and easy to remove it needed. I know the newer versions of vBulletin will support mobile devices but the licensing cost has gone way up. Where it used to cost me around $100 to renew the forum license it now costs around $250.00 and if I throw in the mobile device support it would go up to $399.00. So until I decide what to do with the forum in terms of upgrading it or keeping it the same we can try out the Tapatalk for the mobile device users.
Please keep in mind that from my iPad I went to the site and it said there was a Tapatalk app for the forum, it will cost you $2.99 to download if you do not already have it.

I just logged on tonight via iPad and got the tapatalk notification. Much easier to navigate, view photos and keep track of favorites!! Awesome addition to the forum.

Tapatalk URL
I was traveling last week and I had to post a question to resolve an issue that I was facing. I currently don't use Tapatalk for any forums. I downloaded a free client onto my phone, but I could not get connected to the Keystone RV Forum. The only option that I have is to add a server. What is the URL that I need to use? I tried multiple versions of the website address including:
www.keystonerv.org
keystonerv.org
www.keystonerv.org/forums/index.php
Nothing worked. I get a message back saying that this site is not a Tapatalk compatible forum. I know that it is, because others on this site use Tapatalk.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Daryl

Tapatalk Forum Support
You didn't mention what phone operating system you're using. However, on iOS when you open the latest version of TapaTalk, select the Explore tab and type Keystone in the search box. This forum should be the first option. Select Login and then enter your normal login information. There should be no reason to enter a URL to access the forum using TapaTalk.

Sorry about that. I am using an Android 4.2 phone.
The TapaTalk client that I was evaluating does not have a search function. It only allows me to enter in a server address, and the example it gives is a URL.
Thanks.

I'm not sure which free client you're using, but you'll probably want to use one of the following (paid) apps specifically from Tapatalk. I'm not an Android user, so you'll need to research the two apps and decide which one will work best for your particular phone/tablet.
Community Reader by Tapatalk 4 - $4.99
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...activity&hl=en
or
Community Reader by Tapatalk 2 - $2.99
