Those look very nice! Install looks nice as well... hope to get mine installed soon. I would think during the hot summer these would help the Norcold since it's in the slide. I know its going to help with those pine needles and leaves!

Thanks, and I hope they will do the job as intended. I opted for the Dometic Elite models instead of the Solera toppers they usually use. The RV awnings are Dometic and from what I'd read that's the brand I wanted to use on my toppers. I just wish the awnings on my RV had the protectors on them also.

Nice! I've been contemplating adding some to my Raptor as well. I agree the Dometic Elite models seem the way to go, but it would be nice to have some with the metal guards when rolled up.

The Elites do have the metal on them when rolled up also. I wish the main awnings had them!

We had the Elite (metal wrapped) awning on our Holiday Rambler. It really wasn't that much better, functionally. It did look nicer, but that's about it. The aluminum awning wrap is connected to a 2" strip of canvas that slides into the awning rail, so the "fabric rot" is still next to the trailer and once it starts, anything that runs off the trailer roof drips between the aluminum and the trailer awning rail. That keeps the trailer sidewall "wet and molding" most of the time. The aluminum wrap, if hit by a branch or other heavy "thing", will bend. Like all metal, once bent, you'll always notice the dent, and it's not easily straightened or repaired. The awning still holds water, just like the fabric awnings, so when it rains, it gets wet (just like the cheap ones) and it won't dry out like the cheap ones, so mold starts and is hard to control. That takes us back to that 2" canvas strip. Get bleach on it, trying to stop the mold and you'll hasten damage that leaks down the trailer sidewall. For us, the metal wrapped awning was a "vicious circle of disappointment"..... YMMV

There is a new "heavy duty vinyl wrap" that has come out recently. It replaces the aluminum and may be a better choice than the metal wraps. It has better UV protection than the awning fabric, doesn't hold water like the metal wraps and doesn't show damage when struck by something that hits the side of the trailer.
