Montana HC factory tour...
We came up to Elkhart from Indy 500. Well there was a night in Bluffton, IN. in between for a USAC race at Montpelier, but that's another story. The Montana tour was interesting. Not much high tech about it. They move the chassis through the building process on shop built dollies. We got to see a bare chassis and about all stages to the finished products. They had about 12 in the building. The sales rep said they are producing 12 per day. I got the idea that business is pretty good. I didn't see any obviously Amish folk working. No horse and buggies in the lot. But I got the idea they were working 2 shifts and we were in the 2nd shift. Maybe the Amish work the first shift. Anyway, it was interesting and I would recommend it.
Ah heck, the other story....after Indy 500 is the USAC midget Indiana Speed Week. Six races from Tuesday to Sunday at different tracks. Been on my "bucket list" for a while. We drove up to the KOA in Bluffton-Ft. Wayne and I went to the race about 20 minutes away. Wife stayed in camp. Lots of big name drivers including NASCAR star Kyle Larson. Halfway into it my phone is buzzing....### xxx zzzz Lima Ohio. I don't know anybody in Lima, I ain't answering it. Two more calls. OK I answer later between races. Your wife *** and ###. What? Huh? I cant hear you, hurry up it's about to get loud here. YOUR WIFE HAS LOCKED HERSELF OUT OF THE TRAILER. Oh. Ok I drive back and let her in. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Nothing to it baby. Gives me an excuse to drive 1,000 miles up here next year......by myself! LOL
She still doesn't know how it happened, or is not wanting to tell it. Masters Degree eh? OH NO I never add THAT.
