Inside slide seal rubbed hole through roof.

Ok 2012 Cougar 327RES. Both rear slides have small 1/8" holes rubbed through the roof at the front of the slide. I looked when the slide is in it is right at the edge coming from the inside seal, appears the seal is rubbing a hole through the roof. The slide's sit above the axle and I'm wondering if it has enough vibration to cause the rubber seal to "saw" the roof membrane. Any way, last fall, i put a dab of dicor on the hole and after a 60 mile trip it was rubbed through. Any ideas what to do or use. The dicor is sticky and sticks to the seal a little bit. I'm thinking if I can find a thin enough "patch" of some sort that doesn't affect the seal, I can put some rubber between the seal and roof patch from the inside, after the slide is brought in and before moving it to prevent the problem. Thoughts? Is eternabond sticky at all on the roof face side? And how thick is eternabond?

I would use "eternabond" tape. Made specifically for patching rubber roofs. Any RV parts store will carry it, in either a long roll or a patch kit. Easy directions and if followed the patch will outlast the rest of the roof. I wouldn't worry about the thickness affecting the seal, its not that thick.

Yes. It's sticky like tape. "Activated" like pressure.
Thickness is 30mm or .3 cm.

Ok, got the eternabond tape. Now the next question. The hole is the little black dot. Would you remove the first part of the "trim" and stick the eternabond underneath it and then re caulk it or just lay the eternabond tape just above it, and if I re caulk it what do i use? The old dicor really made a mess of the seals. Will the new eternabond tape bond to the old eternabond tape, and should I run it all the way out to the edge of the slide, and about 6" past the hole? Another question, do I have it clean enough? I scrubbed for awhile with Denatured Alcohol and got as much off that I could, I have wrinkled the old eternabond a little, and am afraid if I rub much more I may cause a problem with that. Thoughts

The new eternabond should stick just fine. I wouldn't take that metal trim off, it's holding the membrane in place and unless you run the eternabond end to end under the trim, you may create a bigger problem. I would use the trim as an edge guide for the eternabond. As a rule Dicor is used on the edges and if you do use it, just leave the slide extended for a day or so. Once the Dicor has "dried" it should be fine. Trick is to make a small bead on the edges of the tape.
