Water fill

My last two trips I have filled (possibly over filled) my fresh water tank and then for a period of a couple days I have a drip at the fresh water drain point and for a shorter period a drip at the low point drain. Is this a problem, or just a drain off after it has been overfilled? Not a weekend trip problem, but for a 12 day trip living off one tank of fresh water it could be. have a polar package, so can't look around to see anything...

If it is an overfill problem, how does one know when to stop since gauges aren't exactly "accurate".

contrary to belief by some members, the tank sensors are pretty accurate and the fresh water ones especially since they don't get "crud" on them. The fresh overflow and the low point drains are two distinctly different things.

The low point drains are used for draining all the water out of the PLUMBING, not the fresh water tank, it has its own drain. You cant or should I say shouldn't plug the overflow, but if the low points are leaking then you need to address that. Either tighten the fittings or replace the washers inside of it.

In my experience, when the FW tank is full water comes out of the "burp" vent and also out the fill spout. Yes, I walked away while filling and when I came back was really really sure the tank was full.
As Chuck said, The low point drains or the FW tank drain should not drip or leak. The caps will hold water unless they are cracked or the washer is bad. Any other problems would require looking further upstream.

I totally agree, your fresh water gauge should be more accurate than the black or grey, within 10 or 15 gallons +/-.
