Water pump problem

We have only had our Keystone Springdale for about a month. The times we have used it this summer we've always gone to RV places where we could hook up to city water. This weekend was the first time we went dry camping and used the water tank. The pump worked fine for the first day and then we started hearing a hissing sound. We discovered that air was leaking out of the closed system. It's still pumps water just fine. But it makes a lot of noise and it won't turn off which will drain the battery. Do we need to replace the water pump? Or can it be repaired?

It could be a bad pump...or not. Check your connections for the water pipes to make sure you don't have a split line or bad connection somewhere.

I had this problem. Mine turned out to be a lose connection on the pump inlet hose. It sucked air into the pump when the pump was on..... tightened the connection to fix.
