Is the bubble popping?

Looks like Thor earnings are worse than projected with flat/declining sales...

Of course they'll flatten out!
There have been record sales of rvs for the last few years, everyone has already bought one, supply & demand. Has nothing to do with a particular manufacturer, it just happens Thor is the biggest so it shows up first.

Uh huh. You must be promoting the naysayers magazines. Sales up 17% in '17 and CW to increase sales locations by 30% in the next two years. Did I miss something?

I didn't write the article, not promoting anything, was somewhat surprised to see the article. I too thought the business was booming for the manufacturers.

I am not surprised at all that sales would decline. if one year is up and the next year is still better than 2 years ago but down from last, that's a decline. Only so many people want a camper, and something tells me camping is not #1 on the millennials list.

Ironically, one of the related links at the bottom of that page carries this headline: Winnebago Earnings Surprise Sends RV Stock Soaring

So, as said before, if earnings are at record highs for 3 or 4 years in a row and this year is slightly off from last year, it's a decline even though it's still double or triple what it was 3 years ago. We used to call it "creative writing" or "creative reporting" more used to build an impression than to report facts.

The RV industry is and has been at record highs and growing by leaps and bounds for the past 5 or 6 years. Even with a "downturn in sales" there's still more RV's being moved each year than there were in the past. Try getting a reservation at a popular campground, that will tell you much more about the popularity of RVing than reading about a "downturn in investment income" for a single quarter..... YMMV

Remember that Winnebago bought Grand Designs, and Grand Designs sales are “off the hook”, at least at our location.
