TV Antenna???

So before everyone says it......I know we're out camping and unplugging from the world, however, late night, there are times I'd like to catch a little TV. Unfortunately, many times, the TV Antenna on top of the camper brings no reception, hence, no channels available.

What's everyone using to "hook up" and catch a little TV? Satellite - Provider?? Ideas??

We always use our antenna even if the park has cable, picture is usually better. Have always gotten 30 to 60 channels, most in HD, everywhere we've parked, usually several foreign language, religious & sports channels, but always the major networks, so always something to watch. We do have the Winegard batwing antenna with added little Wingman & we're not usually deep in the boonies. Not sure these other so called omni directional antennas are up to the task.

Is your booster on before you start to scan for available channels?

We have had that issue too, because we were so far out from any TV transmitters. We have smart TVs in our trailer and use my Ipad air to create a wifi personal hotspot and can then watch from any of the various sites such as Youtube, Hulu, or Chromecast Apps. Just be careful not to use too much of your data. In a 3-day weekend we used 6 GB. You can also download before you go to a USB flashdrive or a DVD if your system has those on the entertainment system.
