2020 Silverado HD???

Some may have seen this, I had not until a moment ago and thought I would share simply because it's so......well, "homely" might be a good word. It sure looks like a blatant attempt to copy the front of the Ford from a few years back....but the designer must have lost his glasses or something.

It's all over Facebook. It's all I've seen today. Love my GM vehicles so I could care less. If the time arises and I need a truck it will not sway my decision.

Yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If it is what one wants a person can get accustomed to it's looks.
I remember when the '65 Mustangs (were referred to as 64 1/2s) were introduced the public at large said the hood was too long, the trunk was too short and it looked square. Somehow that little car endured and became an iconic classic. YMMV

I see the hood resemblance to my 2015 Ford F-250 but not much else. How many years back are you thinking about Danny? The Chevy grille has a bit of a cheese grater look, but then I've read reviews on my truck saying the front end was "overdone like a chrome locomotive".

It's true, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I think my DW is a beauty and nobody had better be holdin' her c'ept me!

I'm not thinking of the 15. I tried a quick google before posting but could not find a pic of the truck I was thinking about. Seems like it was maybe 2010;maybe a little earlier or a little later. It had the split level look on the lights and always looked like they had split the lights in two for some reason. I'll try to research further.

I've been looking and I'm sure it is the 2008-2009 Ford HD 250/350. One of the variants has that low headlight separation and the turn signals up high making it look odd to me. Pictures 1, 4 and 12 are along the lines of what I was thinking.

https://www.google.com/search?q=pict...CIl_9vPj_Kg4M:

Edit; the link changed the sequence of the pictures. Looks like pics 1, 4 and 5 along with others have the look I was remembering.

I'm definitely NOT a Ford fan, but my eyes are beholding 2 of the ugliest trucks ever to go down the road;

The 1st one everything on it is rounded or bubbly looking.
The 2nd EVERYTHING is 90 or 45 degress, the designer needed nothing but a builders square to design it.
The '65 was a good looking truck!!
Just my opinion!!

First picture I have seen of one outside of the road-camo test muels. Eh, good enough - I wouldn't let "looks" be a very high priority when selecting a truck. None of them will win any fashion contests. I went with GMC over Chevy for little aesthetic reasons and availability in my area - if the Chevy was a better deal, I would have gotten it (but DO like the all digital dash on the Denali a lot more than the High Country )

I am much more interested to see what the payload improvements are - since Chevy has always been 3rd in a 3-horse race there. The Allison 10-speed is also interesting and unexpected.

Does the movement of assembly to Mexico impact any of your decisions to continue purchasing a GM truck? Just wondering.

The HDs are still Michigan, always (?) have been. Every company makes cars wherever they can get a good enough result cheaply. If the company has to do business exclusively in USA you are going to find your self out of choices real quick.

I suppose we're all "resistant to change" more as a group than as individuals. I well remember when the '99 SuperDuty was introduced and the remarks about how it looked like an "ugly stepchild" of the Dodge trucks. Then with every revision, some other negative comments arose, berating Ford and suggesting they "go back to being Fords"....

When Dodge changed the brand and remodeled their truck line to RAM, the same "uproar" occurred. Now that they're changing the "distinctive front clip" to a different style, if you read the RAM forums, you'll hear the same comments, just remove the FORD and insert RAM....

The last time GM changed the body style, many of those same comments floated to the surface. The "brick style fenders" and the "Ford style windshield slope" not to mention that "parts were made of aluminum".....

Seems to me, just like visiting new parents and seeing their 2 day old baby, some people will say, "How cute, it looks just like you" pointing to the father, while thinking (but not saying) "Hairy, wrinkled little beast"......

Once the "shock" of GM not following their personal tastes, this too shall pass and be accepted as "Truck of the year" (when it's GM's turn for the award again)......

Look at the new Ford Expeditions, from the side I thought it was a Chevy Tahoe, from the front it still looks like a Tahoe that someone stuck a Ford blue oval on the grill.

"Now that's funny right there!" as Larry the Cable Guy says.
Where do you think some Ford's, Dodges or any other brands are assembled, also north of the border as well as south, it's not just GM.

Looks like Kodiak . Gm brought the topkick back in 2019 from what I'm seeing.
