My best defense is to stick close to DW because they chew her to bits and leave me alone! Same topic came up on another forum last week and several folks suggested the Thermocell devices. We bought a personal device for her to carry around and and one that looks like a lantern for the porch - but both will travel with us when we camp. So far she gives it good reviews.
