Jerry, I believe we found the caves to be about 3 hours one way on the bike. We have been in a number of caverns and found them "If you've seen one you've seen 'em all" sort of attractions.
The rally will be what you expect. Arrive early if you're towing. Brenda and I have been to all the major rallies except Laconia, (Sorry New Hampshire) and found this rally to be about average. It is certainly all adult entertainment, although most unmentionable activities go on after midnight. We quit going to rallies like this a few years ago in that we are more PG-13 people than R rated people. We stick more to sidecar rallies and such.
All bikers should make the real Sturgis one time in their biking career. Very, very big and positively beautiful riding. Put Daytona on the back burner...sorry Florida. We caught the ROT rally in Austin a few years ago and it was just 'ok.'
You know you're getting old when you go to Hooters for the wings and to rallies for the riding!
