I had the dual cam hitch for my 36' Jayco and it did well. I went from 1200# bars to 1500# bars as the tongue weight was right at 1200# loaded. You can always go with heavier bars and just add one link of chain when you draw them up to the snap brackets so the tension is a bit less. It should not affect your ride. We upgraded to a fifth wheel and I installed air bags in my F 250. This greatly improved the ride and towability of the travel trailer. Not sure why, but handling improved.
