As you make future plans don't rule out northern FL or the southern points of MS, AL, TX. They far surpass, IMO, the Sedona area. Sedona has become the "Key West" of AZ to us. Just read that the city had rezoned most of the town to allow multi person dwelling in lieu of homes and were driving "home owner" out of the town. The "red rocks" are pretty but there are lots of places much prettier to us...and quieter, less crowded, more fun etc.
Now, if you're into the supposed "paranormal, supernatural" vibes from the red hills; the coast won't do that for you.....but there are lots of trails.
