Talking Lessons learned

Hey Newbies, here's one for your books. I got up this AM in Florida where it's been extremely hot and humid. Being new a full timing we decided to go with a single A/C unit to see how it holds up until we leave this Hot & Humid State. This morning I found that my A/C unit was cycling on and off every few minutes and the temp was slowly rising, so I panic. I cleaned the filter and tried it again. After it would shut off it would not come back on until it decoded to. I checked all the wires and voltage and all was fine. While standing at the thermostat, scrathing my bald head the A/C unit came on and went right back off. Since I didn't have a shirt on I felt the air which was hitting the thermostat directly since I had turned the vent yesterday to blow into the bathroom. When the door was closed the air hit the thermostat directly and the A/C unit has a five minute recycle time. I turned the vent away from the thermostat and problem solved and blood pressure is back to normal. Ducted air is great but you have to be smarter than it is. Have a great day, I will now.
