Yes the fridge will quit operating if the battery goes dead. Depending on brand/model, some will continue to operate down to about 8.5 volts. As long as your battery is in good shape and you don't leave lights on it should last through the day.
I have started refers on propane with a charged battery and left them for a couple of days.
