Curt, like many companies give the impression in there advertising that ALL there products are made in the USA, this is far from the truth.

On this forum, when tires are discussed, the conversation always goes to the Chinese built tires and the lack of QC with some manufactures and tire plants in China. Well, the same holds true with Steel production and fabrication. In todays world who knows where the steel was produced, what standards was it held to and how was handled in fabrication.

I have worked in a steel shot foundry with (2) 8 ton electric arc furnaces and then in a casting foundry with (3) 8 ton furnaces. In our side of the business we used scrap steel and added the proper ingredients after analysis to achieve the proper mix. No two heats were ever the same, but they were within range. Certified steels require more precision and documentation.
