For all us seasoned towers it took a lot of decades before they even offered something other than a bumper hitch much less a goose or fifth wheel hitch or pucks. Remember when we tied the trailer break controller into the truck brake hydraulic system, and none of them had any consideration for trailer lights. There were no door stickers or trailer towing guides to help us.
The first fifth wheel hitches I installed came with little or no instructions, just a reminder to attach it to the frame. I even designed and made several disappearing ball in the bed goose hitches.
Yes, truck manufactures and accessories have come a long way but so has the price.
